Baltimore Couple to Split $50,000 Taxes-Paid

Stacks of Cash Scratch-Off Prize

(Baltimore) – John Faulkner and Ann Thomas don’t often play scratch-off tickets, but they decided to take a chance yesterday. Ann’s sister recently won $5,000 on the Stacks of Cash scratch-off ticket and the couple hoped luck would shine on them too, by purchasing the same ticket from the same store. Luck did shine on them…they won the $50,000 top prize on the ticket and the taxes are paid.

“We were in the neighborhood for lunch and decided to buy a couple of tickets,” said Ann. “I got back in the car and told John to pick one.” The scratch-off John had was not a winner, but the story was different for Ann. “The very first number I scratched matched and it showed $50,000 as the prize, I thought something was wrong with the ticket,” she said. She showed the ticket to John and the two of them verified the win again inside the store. Prior to scratching the tickets, the couple had already decided to split the winnings.

Ann said she couldn’t sleep last night knowing a winning ticket was in her purse. “She was so excited, I had to tell her to slow down and take her time,” said John.  Ann also just won $1,000 playing Multi-Match by matching five of the six numbers.

The two are planning to use the winnings towards some bills and will share with family members. They are also thinking of taking a cruise. The winning ticket was purchased at Logan Liquors located at 3441 Dundalk Avenue in Baltimore.
