Lanham Man Surprised by $15,004 Keno Win

(Baltimore) – David and Susan Ennis were in for a shock when they walked into Lottery headquarters today.  They came to cash what they thought was a $7,500 winning Keno ticket.  Much to their surprise, they actually won $15,004.

“I didn’t realize I played two dollars on the ticket until I came here,” said David, a retired electrician.  “What a great surprise!”

David was with a friend yesterday when he played the Keno ticket containing birthdays, anniversaries and his favorite number.  He didn’t watch the numbers come out on the screen, but when he took the ticket up to the clerk, she told him the prize was too large for her to cash and that he would have to take it to the Lottery.

The 63-year-old only occasionally plays Keno; his game of choice is Mega Millions. With the jackpot for tonight’s Mega Millions drawing at $166 million, David said, “I will definitely get some more Mega Millions tickets now.”

The grandparents-of-five plan to pay bills and save the money.  The winning ticket was purchased at TJ’s of Calverton, located at 11607 Beltsville Drive in Beltsville.
