Rain Doesn’t Dampen Hurlock Man’s Joyful Win
Claims $50,000 Bonus Match 5 Prize

(Baltimore) – Braving the wind and rain, Olis Molock, Jr. and his brother and nephew made the hour and forty minute drive from Maryland’s Eastern Shore to claim his $50,000 Bonus Match 5 prize. The three gentlemen were undaunted by the weather and thrilled to share their story. Olis’ brother, Nathan, said that big wins run in the family. Twenty years ago he won $50,000 on a Maryland Lottery scratch-off. “I’m next,” said Nathan, Jr., Olis’ nephew.

Olis, a 62-year-old father of six, was on his way to work Friday when he stopped to make his Lottery purchase. An avid Lottery player, he purchased two Bonus Match 5 tickets for that night’s drawing. A press operator at Solo Cup, Olis didn’t know he’d won until the next day when he took his tickets to be scanned at a Lottery retailer. “I couldn’t believe it,” he said. His wife of 39 years was equally stunned.  “She was really tickled,” said Olis smiling broadly.

Olis intends to get his 16-year-old twin granddaughters a car with his winnings. With plans to retire soon, he will also pay off bills and put some money into savings. His immediate plans included getting a bite to eat with his two traveling companions before heading home.

The winning ticket was purchased at Royal Farm #131, located at 2701 Ocean Gateway in Cambridge.
