Baltimore County Trio Finds Mega Millions Luck

(Baltimore) – Three can be a crowd, but for one lucky Mega Millions winner, it was company. The $250,000 second-tier winner, a 27-year-old Ellicott City resident, was escorted to Lottery headquarters by his uncle and brother. The three have been playing Mega Millions for quite a while and usually play Quick Pick numbers. Three months ago, the trio came up with a random series of numbers, picking them off the top of their heads. Tuesday night, five of the six numbers appeared in the Mega Millions drawing, winning the Baltimore County man, $250,000.

The window and siding contractor discovered he was a winner when his uncle checked the numbers from the ticket with the drawing results at mdlottery.com. “It was after midnight and we started hearing the screaming from my uncle’s room. We were wondering what could be happening,” he said. “I asked him to calm down and he said: ‘How can I? We just hit the Lottery!’”

The excited winner has kept the news quiet, only telling his immediate family until the win was confirmed. He plans to use his winnings to purchase a house in the Ellicott City area.

The second-tier winning Mega Millions ticket was purchased at the High’s convenience store located at 3045 Rogers Avenue in Ellicott City.
