Teacher Wins $30,000 Star Spangled Tripler Top Prize

(Baltimore) – For a 55-year-old Prince Georges County woman, starting a saving account for her new grandson had always been something she had hoped to do. Now she can, thanks to a Star Spangled Tripler scratch-off ticket worth $30,000.

“I feel so lucky,” she said. “Using some of this money to start a savings will make a perfect gift for my little grandson, especially since he just turned one this Sunday.”

The winner, originally from Nigeria, told Lottery officials that she loves playing scratch-offs.  Along with the gift for her grandson, she also plans to use some of the money to renovate her home, pay bills, and maybe take a trip to Europe.

The winning ticket was purchased at Hampton Liquors on Central Avenue in District Heights.
