Bowie Couple Win $1,000 a Week for 20 Years
Claim Final Instant Set for Life Top Prize
(Baltimore) – Bowie resident Louis
Kreitzer, Jr. and his wife Margie are set for life. That’s because
the lucky couple just won the final instant top-prize on the Set
for Life scratch-off, winning $1,000 a week for 20 years.
Although the final instant top prize has been claimed, players still
have a chance to win $1,000 a week for 20 years with the Top Prize
Drawing contest. Players who collect the letters L-I-F-E and mail
them to the following address will be entered into the drawing:
Set for Life Top Prize Drawing, Maryland Lottery Agency, P.O.
Box 29944, Baltimore, MD 21230.
Louis, a heavy equipment operator
with the Patuxent Research Refuge Fish and Wildlife Service, was
visiting a store with a co-worker when he purchased two of the
tickets. “I scratched them right in the car,” said Louis. He won the
top prize when he revealed the word “Life” three times on one of his
scratch-offs.
He called his wife as soon as he was
sure. “I didn’t believe him. I thought he must have been reading it
wrong,” said Margie. She knew it was real when his co-worker
confirmed the win.
The lucky couple love the outdoors
and camping in National Parks. They plan to use the winnings to
update their recreational vehicle. They also plan to give a portion
of the prize to charity. “We always said that if we ever fell into
money, it would be nice to have it to help people out. Now we have
that opportunity,” said Margie. The winning ticket was purchased at
Lee’s Market on Brock Bridge Road in Laurel.
