Early Birthday Surprise for Baltimore Woman
Wins $100,000 Jewels of the Nile scratch-off Top Prize
(Baltimore) – Mothers are full of good advice. Just ask Shamira
Cross. She and her mother, Mabel, were at the store when her mom
encouraged her to buy Jewels of the Nile scratch-off tickets.
Shamira’s mother thought it would be a great early birthday present
for her daughter who celebrates her 25th birthday next
month. But, before they could make their purchase, a woman bought
the last two Jewels of the Nile tickets from the Lottery
ticket counter. Shamira then suggested purchasing them from the
Instant Ticket Vending Machine (ITVM). Each of them bought a
Jewels of the Nile ticket and Shamira is now $100,000 richer.
When the recently employed maintenance worker saw the $10,000 prize
on the scratch-off ticket she and her mother immediately left the
store. Her mother finished scratching the ticket when they arrived
at her house and informed Shamira she had actually won $100,000.
“She deserves it,” said Mabel. “Now, she’ll really be able to
celebrate her birthday.”
The single mother-of-two-girls plans
to share her winnings with her ten siblings, use some of the money
for a house, pay off her car and take a trip to Las Vegas. The
winning ticket was purchased at Park Heights Check Cashing at 5461
Park Heights Avenue in Baltimore.
