Brooklyn Park Man Adds Spice to Life with
Spicy Hot 7’s
Wins $77,000 Top Prize
(Baltimore) – April Fools Day was a
happy day for Vincent Johnson, Jr. The Brooklyn Park native arrived
at Lottery headquarters with his Mom, roommate, and roommate’s son,
to claim his $77,000 scratch-off prize. “I’m still numb,” Vincent
said shaking his head in disbelief.
Vincent had gone to his Mom’s house to show her a new puppy he’d
purchased for his girlfriend. While he was there, she suggested that
they take a walk to a nearby store. The 19-year-old said that upon
his mother’s urging he bought one Spicy Hot 7’s ticket. He
scratched the ticket while still in the store and asked his mother
to look at it. “This is not right,” his mother exclaimed. She then
asked the clerk to check the scratch-off. The $77,000 win was
confirmed and they were told to go to Maryland Lottery headquarters.
“I just feel drained,” said the young man. Vincent intends to give
his mother a substantial portion of the money. “If it wasn’t for
her, I never would have even walked up to the store.” Planning to
use his winnings to return to school, Vincent would like to go to
North Carolina to pursue a career in architecture.
The winning ticket was purchased at Steakhouse Food Market, located
at 5023 Ritchie Hwy. in Baltimore.
