Glen Burnie Woman Cashes in on Poker Scratch-Off
Wins $50,000 World Championship Poker Top Prize

(Baltimore) – A Glen Burnie woman was at home cooking Saturday evening when intuition told her to go buy Lottery tickets.  It’s a good thing she listened to her instincts, because the 53-year-old is now $50,000 richer.  The avid Lottery player loves the World Championship Poker and Bingo scratch-off tickets.   “I don’t understand poker, but the first time I played World Championship Poker, I won $50,” she said.  “That helped me to understand fast.”

When the Comptroller’s Office employee saw the $50,000 prize on the scratch-off ticket, she immediately said, “It can’t be right.”  She told her husband of 14 years that she thought she won, but wasn’t sure.  The woman went back to the store, where the retailer confirmed she had a winning ticket.   “It was a long time coming, but still a blessing,” said the winner.

The mother-of-one-son plans to share her good fortune with her siblings and use some of the money for a down payment on a house. “I was already in the process of buying a new home,” she said.  “This comes at a good time.”  The winning ticket was purchased at Boyer’s Amoco at 7400 Ft. Smallwood Road in Baltimore.
