Hagerstown Woman Has a Lucky Day with
Lucky Lines
Wins $30,000 Scratch-off Top Prize
(Baltimore) – A Hagerstown woman enjoyed her morning routine of
eating breakfast and reading the paper last Saturday. She then
decided to take a trip to Maugans I Mart where she often buys
Lottery tickets and food. “They are friendly and they know me
there, so I stopped by to say hi,” she explained. It was during her
stop that her routine day changed dramatically. “I usually play
Keno and scratch-offs along with doing my shopping.”
Saturday, she purchased a Lucky Lines scratch-off. She
hadn’t even scratched the entire ticket, before giving it to the
cashier to see if it was a winner. After scanning it, the cashier
told her to take the ticket to Lottery headquarters.
The 44-year-old winner, who is single
and works at Mary Baldwin College, figured it was at least a $1,000
winning ticket. She told the cashier she’d wait to scratch the rest
at home. Curious to know how much she won, the cashier asked her to
finish scratching the ticket at the store. She did, and it revealed
a $30,000 top prize. “Oh my goodness,” the cashier yelled.
The winner, who expressed tremendous
gratitude, plans to pay off her debts and give her parents a gift.
The winning ticket was purchased at Maugans I Mart at 18403 Maugans
Avenue in Hagerstown.
