Upper Marlboro Man
Warms Up to Spicy Hot 7’s
Wins $77,000 Top Prize
(Baltimore) –
A 37-year-old Maryland Army National Guardsman from
Prince George’s
County was in Baltimore visiting his parents last Friday. While in
town, he and his mother stopped at a neighborhood 7-ll and he
decided to buy a scratch-off. With his mother’s advice, he selected
a Spicy Hot 7’s ticket. “My mom told me, try that one -- it’s
new,” he said, smiling.
He purchased
only the one Spicy Hot 7’s. “I don’t play often, but I just
had a feeling.” The soft-spoken man waited until he returned to his
home in Upper Marlboro to play his ticket. When he finished
scratching, he was uncertain about what it revealed, so once again,
he called on his mother for advice. “She told me to fax a copy of
the ticket so she could look at it.. “Then she said, you hit!”
He shared the news with his wife of 11 years, who was ecstatic. The
busy father-of-three is a policeman and has served in
Iraq. Saying the
prize money is much needed, he intends to pay bills and use some of
the winnings for his daughter’s college tuition.
The
winning ticket was purchased at 7-ll, located at
6401
Reisterstown Rd. in Baltimore.
