Lottery Ticket Ritual Turns to
“Gold” for Owings Mills Man
Pharaoh’s Gold $50,000 Top-Prize Winner
(Baltimore) – Robert Mackall buys
Lottery tickets at least four or five times a week. He always buys
the same ticket, Pharaoh’s Gold scratch-offs. Today, his
ordinary practice turned out to be anything but ordinary. “I always
stay with Pharaoh’s Gold,” said Mr. Mackall. “I stopped and got my
tickets and it’s my ritual to take them back to my office to scratch
them.” When he scratched the second one it revealed his big win. “I
was shocked. I had to look twice before believing I won $50,000.”
He scratched his remaining tickets to discover another $5 win. The
Housekeeping Manager at Baltimore’s World Trade Center added that he
won $100 on Pharaoh’s Gold, two weeks ago.
After double-checking his ticket to confirm his good fortune, Robert
shared his good news with the building’s property manager. His
co-worker hugged him and expressed her hearty congratulations.
Unable to contact his wife of four years because his phone was in
need of repair, Mr. Mackall said that he intended to take off the
rest of the day, enjoy the afternoon, and get his phone fixed. “Then
I can call my wife,” he said laughing. “She’ll be jumping with joy.”
Mr. Mackall said that, with his winnings, he will pay off all his
bills and send his grandchildren some money.
The winning ticket was purchased at Café International located at
401 E. Pratt St. in Baltimore.
