Beginner’s Luck for First Time Multi-Match Player
West Virginia Woman Claims Half of $650,000 Jackpot

(Baltimore) – A West Virginia woman stopped by a Maryland Lottery retailer in
Frederick last Thursday to buy a Mega Millions ticket.  Once inside, the clerk told her how good the odds were for Multi-Match, so she decided to purchase one for that game too. Lucky for her, she bought a top-tier winning ticket.

The 54-year-old thought there was a mistake when she checked her ticket and realized all six numbers matched the ones drawn.  She took it to a store to find out how much she won.  “They told me I had to take it to Baltimore,” the mother-of-two told Lottery officials.  “That’s when I knew it was big.”

She wasn’t the only top-tier winner from Saturday’s $650,000 Multi-Match drawing.  That other ticket remains unclaimed and was purchased at Eagle Mart, located at 3101 Pulaski Highway in Baltimore.  Since there are two winning tickets, each is worth $325,000.  The unemployed woman chose the $162,000 cash option, which she will invest and use to pay bills.

The winning ticket was purchased at Hi-Way Liquors, located at 6915 Baltimore National Pike in Frederick.
