Hairdresser Is Sitting Pretty with $50,000 Win
Fantastic 5’s Scratch-off Leads to Big Win for Bowie Resident

(Baltimore) – John McQuillan, owner of Takoma Park’s Salon JAM, is used to making people look good. The long-time hairdresser knows firsthand that nothing looks better than the glow that comes with winning. That’s because the avid scratch-off player just won $50,000 with a Fantastic 5’s scratch-off.

McQuillan was playing Keno on Monday morning when he decided to purchase some scratch-offs. “I had a feeling, so I purchased a couple scratch-offs,” he said. He didn’t win on the first two, so McQuillan purchased two more. After revealing several matches on the third ticket,  McQuillan discovered he had won $50,000.

The 44-year-old
Bowie resident had been a hairdresser at the salon for several years before purchasing it seven years ago. “After I bought it, we totally remodeled the place and re-named it Salon JAM,” said McQuillan. The winner says the prize money from the winning ticket will be used to pay for the remodeling expenses.

The winning ticket was purchased at Crescent Food Market on Old Chapel Road in Bowie.
