Second-Tier $250,000 Ticket Sold in Salisbury
(Baltimore) – Mega Millions
second-tier winners keep pouring in. Since last Tuesday,
Mega Millions drawings have produced five $250,000 in
Maryland, making it 17 since the start of the fiscal year in July.
There was no jackpot winner last night, making Friday night’s
drawing $220 million -- the seventh largest in Mega Millions
history.
Last night’s $250,000 winning ticket was purchased at Shore Stop
#207, located at 1020 Eastern Shore Drive in Salisbury. The numbers
drawn were 01, 38, 42, 55, 56 and Mega Ball 34. The winner, who
matched all numbers except for the Mega Ball, has 182 days to claim
the prize.
This has been a big fiscal year for Mega Millions in
Maryland. Along with the 17 second-tier winners, there have also
been two jackpot winners. Baltimore County resident, Bunky Bartlett,
was one of four people nationwide to win the $330 million Mega
Millions jackpot in July 2007, taking home a prize of $82.5
million. In October, a mother and daughter from Essex won $27
million. The biggest jackpot win in Maryland history, $183 million,
was won in June 2003 by Bernadette Gietka, from Baltimore County.
The Mega Millions drawing is held in Atlanta, Georgia and can
be seen locally on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 11:22 pm on WBAL-TV,
Channel 11. The multi-state Mega Millions game is played in
12 states -- Maryland, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan,
New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Virginia, Washington, Texas and
California.
