Jackpot Soars to $220 Million
Two Second-Tier $250,000 Tickets Sold in Maryland; 16 Since
July
(Baltimore) – As the Mega
Millions jackpot keeps growing, so do the number of winners in
Maryland. In just three days, four second-tier $250,000 winning
tickets were sold in Maryland, two of which came from Friday’s
drawing. There was no jackpot winner, making tonight’s drawing
worth $220 million.
The winning tickets were purchased at
McKay’s Food & Drug at 46075 Signature Lane in Lexington Park and
Klein’s #4246 at 1321 Riverside Parkway in Belcamp. The numbers
drawn on Friday were 07, 11, 26, 30, 53 and Mega Ball 14. The
winners, who matched all numbers except for the Mega Ball, have 182
days to claim their prizes.
Maryland has had a number of Mega
Millions winners recently, including 16 second-tier and two
jackpot winners since the beginning of the fiscal year in July.
Baltimore County resident, Bunky Bartlett, was one of four people
nationwide to win the $330 million Mega Millions jackpot in
July 2007, taking home a prize of $82.5 million. The biggest jackpot
win in Maryland history, $183 million, was won in June 2003 by
Bernadette Gietka, from Baltimore County.
The Mega Millions drawing is held
in Atlanta, Georgia and can be seen locally on Tuesday and Friday
evenings at 11:22 pm on WBAL-TV, Channel 11. The multi-state
Mega Millions game is played in 12 states -- Maryland, Georgia,
Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio,
Virginia, Washington, Texas and California.
