$250,000 Big Win for Ferndale Woman
Mega Millions Yields Second-Tier Win

(
Baltimore) – “I’ve got the greatest girl in the world,” exclaimed the husband of the winner of a $250,000 Mega Millions second-tier prize. The 40-year-old player, who recently overcame a major health issue, was tremendously grateful about her win and improved health.

Just about a year ago, the mother-of-three was diagnosed with breast cancer, underwent surgery and had chemotherapy. Her husband, a real estate magazine publisher, told Lottery officials that his wife deserves this because, through her illness, she never gave up. “She’s a fighter,” he said.

The couple found out they were winners two days after the Tuesday night drawing. They had no idea they were carrying a $250,000 lucky ticket in their pocket. “As soon as my wife called and told me, I told her to sign the ticket, put it away and leave the store,” said the player’s husband.

The couple plans to buy a house with the winnings and pay some bills. They are also going to take a trip to Las Vegas for their anniversary in May. The ticket was purchased at Doc’s F & B Liquors, located at 7067 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd. in Glen Burnie.
