Construction Worker Cashes in on Mega Millions
Wins $250,000 Second-Tier Prize

(Baltimore) – An Essex man is a little bit happier today, thanks to a Mega Millions ticket.  On his way home for work this morning, the 49-year-old decided to stop at a gas station to check his three tickets from last night’s drawing.  “The first ticket I scanned was the winning ticket,” he exclaimed.  The clerk told him they couldn’t cash his winning ticket, so he picked up his friend and headed straight to Lottery headquarters.  “I didn’t know how much it was worth until I showed up here, the winner told Lottery officials. “It hasn’t hit me yet.”

The lucky player said he was glad he didn’t watch the televised drawing because he would have “gone bonkers.”   The winner regularly stops at the Pantry 1 Food Mart for lunch and Lottery tickets. The construction superintendent says he only plays Mega Millions when the jackpot is over $100 million, but he loves scratch-offs.

The father-of-three children and grandfather-of-three plans to buy a truck and invest the rest of his winnings. The winning ticket was purchased at Pantry 1 Food Mart, located at 7100 North Point Rd. in Baltimore.
