Itching For Relaxation, Woman
Scratches Her Way To $50,000
Big Money Bingo Pays $10,000, Multiplied By Five
(Baltimore) – A Takoma Park
woman’s favorite pastime turned into more than just an enjoyable
evening at home. “Scratch-offs are my favorite thing to do,” she
said. “I buy a couple each day.” The 69-year-old widowed
mother-of-three purchased the winning ticket on Wednesday afternoon.
It wasn’t until Wednesday evening that she scratched the ticket to
find out that she was a winner – five times over.
“I wait until my grandchild, who I watch
during the day, goes home in the evening," she said. "Then I
look at my tickets. It’s my relaxation. I look forward to it all
day."
Favorite scratch-off tickets include
Super Crossword and Big Money Bingo. The woman said that
she went over and over the numbers, until believing she had actually
won. Originally, she thought she was a $10,000 winner since she
hadn’t checked the prize multiplier. She then realized she was not
$10,000, but $50,000 richer. “I almost had a heart attack. I checked
that ticket ten times and then called my daughter,” she offered.
The elated winner said that she intends
to do some home repairs, buy a couple of appliances and enjoy
herself. The winning ticket was purchased at Dennis Express located
at 6315 New Hampshire Ave. in Takoma Park.
