Temple Hills Woman Wins Second-Tier Mega Millions Prize
First
$250,000 Prize Claimed in 2008

(Baltimore) – December 5th started out as a bad day for a Temple Hills woman.  The Human Resources Director learned that she would have to give up tickets to the Washington Redskins game the following day due to a meeting at work.  “I was a little depressed after finding that out,” she said. Her mood quickly changed as she checked her Mega Millions tickets on the Lottery website and found out she won $250,000.

“I saw that I matched one number, then two, three, four, and by the time I got to the fifth number, I couldn’t breathe,” said the 50-year-old.  “I checked the ticket 20 times, then called my sister to tell her and I just kept crying.”

The excited winner had luck on her side.  After handing the store clerk a $20 bill and her play slips, she realized she only picked $18 worth of numbers.  To save time, she asked the retail clerk for two Quick Pick tickets and one of those was the winner.

The Lottery player usually sticks to Pick 4 which won her $10,000 last summer.  She only plays Mega Millions when the jackpot is high.  Although her 25-year-old son, who is in the Army, has thought of a few things to buy with the prize money, the winner plans to spend a little and invest the rest.

The winning ticket was purchased at Livingston Road Chevron, located at 6211 Livingston Road in Oxon Hill.  An $850,000 Multi-Match top-prize ticket from the October 6th drawing was purchased down the street from that location at Seitz Liquors.  That ticket is still unclaimed.
