Dundalk Man Wins Magical
Mega Millions Jackpot
Accountant Shares $330
Million Prize
(Baltimore) – It’s official! Bunky Bartlett
from Dundalk is Maryland’s newest multi-millionaire. He is one of
four winners nationwide to split the $330 million jackpot from
Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing, giving each winner
$82.5 million. The 40-year-old accountant brought his winning ticket
to Lottery headquarters today for the official verification process.
“We are thrilled to bring the Mega Millions
jackpot back to Maryland,” said Lottery Director Buddy Roogow. “We
wish Bunky and his family all the best as they celebrate this
extraordinary occasion.”
Bartlett’s wife bought $10 of Mega Millions
tickets Friday evening – just hours before the big drawing. He says
it’s the best investment they have ever made. Bunky chose the cash
option of $48.6 million, giving him over $32.6 million after taxes.
The ordained minister will help expand
Mystickal Voyage, a new age store and spend his time teaching Reiki,
a form of Japanese energy healing. The father-of-two, an
18-year-old and a 21-year-old, has already bought an SUV for his
daughter.
“I took a copy of my ticket to the car
dealership and drove off with a brand new car,” said Bunky. “Other
than my marriage and the births of my children, this is the best
feeling I’ve ever had.”
Bunky’s ticket was purchased at Walther Liquors
in Nottingham. Liquor store owners Christina and John Ebmeier will
receive a $25,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. The other
winning tickets were purchased in New Jersey, Virginia and Texas.
The $330 million jackpot is the second largest in Mega
Millions history. In March, Mega Millions set the world
record with a $390 million jackpot.
