Second-Tier Prize Comes at Right Time
Harford County Couple Wins $250,000 Playing Mega Millions

(Baltimore) – Winning a huge amount came at the right time for a Havre de Grace couple.  They faced loosing their home and mounting bills. Their bad luck change for the better when they won the $250,000 Mega Millions second-tier prize from last Tuesday night’s drawing.

The wife who purchased the ticket has been on leave from work to take care of her 81-year-old sick mother.  Because there is only one income in the household from the husband, the family has been overwhelmed with bills.

The 49-year-old woman played $5 on a quick pick.  Later on that night, as she watched the drawing, she began to shake as she saw her numbers pop up on the television screen. “Wake up, we just won $250,000,” she said as she shook her husband. She then checked the ticket online.

The happily married couple feels that their fortune has been sent from God.  They have three children and three grandchildren.  With the winning money, they plan to continue taking care of the wife’s mother and using the rest to pay off bills.

The winning ticket was purchased at Post Road Liquors at 1123 Revolution Street, Havre de Grace.
