Catonsville Couple Begins the New Year with $250,000 Prize
Third Mega Millions Winner to Claim in Two Days

(Baltimore) - A Catonsville jeweler and his fiancée have been dreaming about buying a house for a while.  That dream is now a reality thanks to a lucky Mega Millions ticket.  The excited couple matched all of their Mega Millions numbers, except for the Mega Ball, from Friday night’s drawing.  They claimed their $250,000 second-tier prize today at Lottery headquarters.

The 47-year-old man asked his fiancée to pick up a few Mega Millions tickets last week.  While watching television the next morning, he saw the winning numbers pop up on the screen.  The win couldn’t have come at a better time, since he recently became unemployed.

“I never really believed that people won until now,” said the woman.  “This has made our Christmas and New Year’s even more exciting.”

The winning ticket was purchased at the Inglewood Citgo, located on Edmondson Avenue in Catonsville.

Yesterday, a Delaware couple and a Prince George’s County woman each claimed their $250,000 Mega Millions prizes.  Since July, eleven lucky Maryland Lottery players have won second-tier prizes.  The winning ticket from the August 28th drawing, sold in at White Marsh BP, is still unclaimed.
